Photos - NOT STORED

CRITICAL: When you use Is It Clean?, you take photos of rooms to evaluate cleanliness. These photos are:

  • NEVER stored on our servers
  • Sent directly to OpenAI's API for processing
  • Subject to OpenAI's data retention policies (typically deleted within 30 days)
  • Not accessible to us after transmission to OpenAI
  • Your responsibility to ensure you have permission to photograph the space

Usage Data

We only track:

  • Number of photos analyzed per user
  • Basic app usage statistics (anonymous)

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide cleanliness analysis services
  • Improve app functionality and user experience
  • Fix bugs and technical issues
  • Communicate with you about app updates (if you opt-in)

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information, including:

Third-Party Services

OpenAI Processing: We use OpenAI's API for image analysis. When you submit a photo:

  • The photo is sent directly to OpenAI's servers
  • We do not store or have continued access to your photos
  • OpenAI's privacy policy and terms apply to their processing
  • OpenAI may retain images for up to 30 days for safety and quality purposes

Children's Privacy - COPPA Compliance

Age Restriction: Is It Clean? is NOT intended for children under 13 years of age.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, DO NOT use this app or provide any information.

If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information immediately. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at support@merinlabs.com.

Parents: If your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us to have it removed.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access information we have about you (email and photo count only)
  • Request deletion of your account
  • Stop using the app at any time

Note: We cannot delete photos from OpenAI's servers as we do not store or control them.

California Privacy Rights

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA. However, as a hobby project that does not meet the CCPA's business thresholds, these regulations may not apply. We still honor deletion and access requests.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
